STILLVA
樹齢百年を経過した杉を使ったSTILLVAは、
五段階に角度を調整する背と、独自のキャスターでスムーズな移動も可能な椅子です。
”スティルバ”は、STILL（穏やかな・まだ）＋ SILVA（樹林）という意味を持ち
工房での手編みの籐や杉の質感から、自然の中で寝ころぶ様な雰囲気を纏っています。
STILLVA crafted from Japanese cedar over 100years old,
features a backrest with five adjustable angles and original
casters for smooth,effortless movement.
This chair derives its name from STILL (quiet, yet) and SILVA (forest).
Hand-woven rattan and cedar wood crafted in our workshop evoke a natural texture
that conjures the tranquil sensation of relaxing in the woods.

百年木材さんの樹齢百年以上の杉を
使った家具を展示いたしました。
通常、柔らかい杉は私達の工房ではあまり家具に使う事は
なかったのですが、宮崎の森で百年以上をかけて育った杉は、
若い杉よりも密度と強度を増しています。
近年、林業が衰退化しつつある宮崎の森の木の事を知ってもらえる様、
WOHLHUTTEからは STILLVAとSUIBANを
板坂 諭さんからは Century chairとMicrobiome Mirrorを
MEDIA DEPARTMENT TOKYO 2Fの会場で展示しました。

DESIGNART 2025 “STILL GROWING”
We exhibited furniture made using cedar over one hundred years old,
provided by Hyakunen Mokuzai.
Cedar is generally too soft for us to use in furniture making at our workshop.
However, cedar that has grown for more than a century in the forests of
Miyazaki has greater density and strength than younger cedar.
In order to raise awareness of the trees in Miyazaki’s forests—
where the forestry industry has been in decline in recent years—
we exhibited the following works at MEDIA DEPARTMENT TOKYO
STILLVA and SUIBAN by WOHLHUTTE
Century Chair and Microbiome Mirror by Satoshi Itasaka
